What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about my family and friends. Nothing makes my heart sing more than spending time with those I love.
I am also passionate about educating and empowering people to be the healthiest version of themselves they can be using the food and medicine nature provides us with.
Why did you choose to work in the health industry?
I’ve always been interested in health and preventative medicine from a very young age. I would be checking out the health food shops whilst my friends were in Sportsgirl or Just Jeans, and I knew about Sandra Cabot’s liver shots long before I did vodka shots!
My interest in all things health really started at the age of 13 when my dad had a stroke and was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Watching him struggle with his health over many years made me realise you should never take your health for granted and inspired me to study herbal and nutritional medicine.
What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in your life?
Parenting! It’s such a rollercoaster ride of love, fear, trust and acceptance. The most challenging and most rewarding job ever.
If you could give one word of advice, what would it be?
Smile! It’s the universal language of love and kindness.
What is the most inspiring quote you have heard?
“Let thy food be thy medicine, and let thy medicine be thy food” – Hippocrates, father of medicine.
Food really is the most powerful medicine we can take to prevent illness and maintain good health.
Do you have an ethos you live by?
If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
If you could invite any three people over for dinner (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
My dad, because he is my hero and tells the most hilarious jokes
Charlie Teo – so much respect and admiration for this man and the courageous work he does to save peoples’ lives
Dorothy Hall – well known and loved traditional herbalist and naturopath. So much knowledge and wisdom to learn from this amazing woman.
