Melinda Carbis Reilly

What are you most passionate about?

Growth. I love seeing and helping people exceed their own expectations and lose limiting beliefs. I love pushing myself too, to be the best version of myself and to accept any challenge life throws me gracefully. I dont always manage to do it gracefully, sometimes there are tears and tantrums but this is how we truly know we are growing and I do love it.

Why did you choose to work in the health industry?

The science of human movement and the physiology of the human body fascinated me, and then once immersed, I wanted to know more about nutrition, and natural medicine and spiritual elements, it has been a journey of discovery that has kept me excited and pumped at every juncture. I also get such a buzz from helping people. I get a natural high teaching classes, doing consults and workshops, it is such a blessing to help people feel amazing about themselves.

What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in your life?

I have had a few actually, but if I had to pick one I would say losing my son. Braith taught me so much in his short life which I am forever grateful for, but the sense of loss of someone so precious to you still stings even if you can take the learnings and move forward. The second hardest was going through depression, I lost myself for a while there, which is nearly as scary as losing a loved one.

If you could give one word of advice, what would it be?

Never give up on what you want. If I have learnt anything so far in life it is that your perseverance and energy is what manifests dreams into reality. The only thing standing in your way, is you. Keep self-reflecting, constantly looking at how you can step up and never doubt your awesomeness. I think that is more than one word of advice 😉

What is the most inspiring quote you have heard?

If you cant fly, then run.
If you cant run then walk.
If you cant walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward. Martin Luther King Jr.

Do you have an ethos you live by?

Be the change you want to see in the world. That is how I live my life. If I want people to be happy, I will be happy. If I want peace in the world then I need to demonstrate peace in my heart. I know that it all starts with me and we ARE big enough to fix big problems, we need to believe in our own power as individuals and to also believe in our undeniable connection that when harvested, big arse things can happen.

If you could invite any three people over for dinner (dead or alive), who would it be and why?

I would love to feast with Jesus, Buddha and Ghandi. Don’t think I would walk away from that meal the same!
