The Best Spa Treatments You Can Do At Home

A relaxing day at the spa is certainly an indulgent treat that we love to experience however you can create a spa experience in the comfort of your own home with a few special touches to get that much needed R & R.

How to Relax and Rejuvenate in the Comfort of Your Home

While spa sessions can bring to mind sophisticated (not to mention expensive) equipment, you can actually do without them and concoct your own spa treatment using the right ingredients. If you make enough you could even throw your own spa party with your friends at the comforts of your own home!

Here are some of the best spa treatments that you can create and enjoy at home with a few ingredients and simple procedures:

Aromatherapy bath

Aromatherapy is one of the best spa treatments that you can easily do in your home. All you have to do is mix one part sea salt, two parts baking soda and one part Epsom salts in your bath tub. Add a few drops of your preferred essential oil scents and you’re all set to enjoy a fragrant and relaxing aromatic experience. Grab your favorite book while you soak in the tub so you can thoroughly enjoy the moment.

Facial Masks

Facial masks are often considered to be quite pricey, but there are alternatives that are affordable and can meet anyone’s budgets. Here’s a quick recipe: get some milk and some honey, then mix both of them in a bowl. The mixture should be both creamy and sticky, before you apply it on your face.

Once you have achieved the right consistency, apply the mask evenly on your face, lay down and put some cucumber over your eyes. Relax for 15 minutes. Rinse it with warm water first, then with cold. Dab your face with a towel and apply your favorite moisturizer.

Your skin needs to be exfoliated from time to time to remove deep seated dirt and dead skin and make way for soft, vibrant skin. To do so, you can use grounded salt in a container and fill it with olive oil until the oil is just past the line that the salt makes. Mix them up and apply them to the body parts you want to, be sure to rub it in well, then use water to rinse it off.

Steam Facial

Steam facials are one of the easiest treatments you can do by yourself at home. All you need is a bowl with boiled water that is warm enough to provide steam (but not hot enough to burn your skin), a towel, essential oils and some herbs. Put it in some herbs like green tea or lavender, then add a few drops of essential oils. Cover your head with a towel and lean over the bowl and allow the steam to engulf your face for five minutes.

Relaxation and self-care is a necessity for everyone and whether you’re always on the go, or low on budget, it’s important that you provide yourself with it. Pampering sessions every now and then will help you live a fuller, healthier and happier life.
